Beyond church: the question no one asks
This is where our journey begins. However, one cannot embark on a journey unless one first understands where one is starting from and where one is headed to. It's necessary to assess the origin of departure in order to count the cost of arriving at a desired destination.
With that in mind, at the very end of the Bible, in the Book of Revelation. a voice from heaven is heard saying: "Then I heard another voice from heaven saying: “Depart from her, my people, so that you will not take part in her sins and share in her plagues" (Revelation 18:4). It is critical to note that this Bible verse is structured in the form of a command--not a suggestion--thus it is meant to be obeyed, not minimized or ignored. Strangely however, if you ask Christians or even pastors, ministers, or priests, what this verse entails, most would struggle to come up with a response and any responses elicited, would likely vary greatly.
Fortunately, this passage does hint at where or what to depart from, by counting the cost of not taking part in her sins, in order to arrive at a place of not sharing in her plagues. Not sharing in her plagues is the final destination but exactly how does a person arrive there? That is the question that the status-quo church has not addressed.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
